MEXICO CITY — Mexican medics are drawing catcalls after they dropped a heart being rushed to a hospital for a transplant. Mexico City police say they used a helicopter to deliver the heart in “a rapid, precision maneuver.” But after exiting the chopper, a medic stumbled and the plastic-wrapped heart tumbled out of a cooler onto the street. Newspaper reader Christian Sabido posted one of the more printable online comments Wednesday, saying: “Anybody can make a mistake, but with this type of thing you should be careful.” The medic returned the heart to the cooler, and the Health Department confirms it arrived at the hospital where the recipient was waiting. There has been no information on whether the transplant was successful.
FUMMMBLEEEE!!! Jesus Christ Mexicans! I’m more careful with a cooler full of Bud Lights when I’m tailgating at the Meadowlands. You gotta protect the rock! Thats a human heart in a zip lock bag you’ve got there. I’m no heart surgeon but I’m pretty sure its not like you can just dust off the gravel from the parking lot and throw that shit in somebody’s chest. I don’t think heart transplants abide by the “5 second rule.” I love how quickly they just throw that shit back in there. Lost all of the ice, looks like some bags filled with fluid or something. Fuck it! Keep going the cameras are rolling! We’re in Mexico anyway. Drug cartel is probably gonna kill this patient within a week regardless.
